Vicky is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has over 15 years’ experience in the finance sector. After training with and spending nearly 9 years at a big four accountancy firm, Vicky worked in both the Trusts and Funds sector before joining Offshore in September 2016. Vicky enjoys adding value through the provision of effective training sessions and reducing the costs, risks or resource requirements of businesses through effective reviews and subsequent enhancement/design of controls and processes.

Outside of the office Vicky enjoys growing (and eating!) her own vegetables, practicing yoga and walking the beautiful cliffs of Guernsey.

Mathew was born and education in Guernsey and has over twenty years of general accountancy practice experience including financial services, local businesses, tax and liquidations. Mathew qualified as an ACCA in 2006 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Association in 2011.

Outside of the office Mathew is married with two young sons. When time allows, he enjoys running and keeping fit, and has embraced his forties by learning to play the guitar!

Emma moved to Guernsey while at secondary school and completed her GCSEs before working for a commercial company (Vets4Pets) for the past 10 years. Whilst working she gained her CAT qualification and then moved on to complete ACCA in 2013. Emma has gained experience in management and statutory accounting, budgeting, forecasting and project management. Emma joined Offshore at the start of 2017 after having a short break from work to raise her son. In her spare time she loves baking, Pilates, going on holidays and walking her dog.

Gary was born and raised in Leeds and gained his degree in Accounting at Preston Polytechnic in 1984. He has lived in Guernsey for 16 years and has worked mainly in retail accounting within the home and garden industry and automotive sector. He joined Offshore in April 2016 and has become an integral part of the Fund accounting team working on one of our largest Fund clients. Outside the office Gary is a keen cyclist and father to two teenage boys.

Zoe Findlay - Special Projects



Zoe was educated in the UK and moved to Guernsey with her family in 2011. Her career background has been varied, working across many different industries. Her previous experience has included roles in advertising and media, qualitative research and moderation, website copywriting and healthcare where she worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and Clinical Advisor for the London Ambulance Service. Since moving to Guernsey, Zoe has worked in the Intermediaries sector, focusing on portfolio management and business risk. She joined the Offshore team in 2016 to assist with special projects. In between work and looking after her 2 children, Zoe enjoys yoga, kettlebells and kickboxing.

Born and educated in Guernsey, Estelle has worked in finance since leaving school.

On return to work after a break to bring up her children, Estelle was employed in the Fund Industry working in a variety of roles including team leader of Fund of Hedge Fund valuations. Estelle moved to a small Investment management company in 1999 in a control and oversight capacity.

Estelle came in to assist Offshore in October 2015 to provide support with ad hoc projects and from January 2016 has taken on the day to day Financial control role for Offshore Consulting and Offshore Accounting.

As well as running her own bookkeeping business, Estelle likes to keep active with running, yoga and swimming.

She worked at Barclays Bank covering a variety of roles including cashiering, personal banking and Global Custody. She then moved to Credit Suisse in 2005 where she was a Relationship Manager for 5 years. Having taken a career break to raise her children Jo has returned to the finance sector and is now responsible for the Client Due Diligence at Offshore. Out of the office Jo’s main focus is on her two young children but she also enjoys running, walking, reading and socialising when time allows.

Danny has spent his entire career within the finance sector. During this time, he has gained experience in the fields of audit, client account preparation, taxation, corporate secretarial and fund administration with a focus on Private Equity funds. Danny qualified with ACCA in 2001 and became a Fellow in 2006. At Offshore, his main focus is assisting the corporate clients with their accounting function, including financial statement preparation, fund valuations, cash flow forecasts, liquidity requirements, VAT and NRL reporting. Out of the office, Danny likes to spend time with his family, socialise and practice martial arts.

Born and educated in Guernsey, Jenny joined Ernst and Young in September 2005 in an audit role having completed her A levels at Blanchelande Girls College. Jenny became ACCA qualified with Ernst and Young Guernsey before taking on a secondment to Ernst and Young Wellington, New Zealand, where she work as audit assistant manager and was responsible for leading audits for large State Owned Enterprises, Government departments, and other clients in automotive and forestry industries along with several private sector clients and property funds.
Jenny joined Offshore in January 2015 having moved back to the island and working in Trust and Company administration. Jenny has had involvement with a variety of corporate and private clients in addition to system installation projects for Private Equity fund structures.

Fiona was born and educated in Guernsey, and moved to London in 2000 to work for a small firm of chartered accountants. There she worked in audit, client accounting, and taxation. Fiona gained the ACCA qualification in 2002 and, in 2003 travelled the world before returning to Guernsey in 2005 where she worked as a management accountant first in the banking industry, then as a project accountant in the property industry, and finally as a management accountant in the Insurance industry. She also took time out to spend several years focussing on raising her two young children and helping with her husband’s business. Fiona joined the Offshore team in 2014 as a client accountant. In her spare time Fiona loves to spend time with her two children and enjoys cycling.

Scott is Guernsey born and started work at NatWest bank in 1984. Scott has worked in Finance since that time. He has experience in many different sectors of the Finance industry including Private and Retail Banking, Asset Management and Fiduciary sectors. Scott was an Assistant Director for ten years at Rothschild Trust Guernsey Limited. He has been involved in Project Management for twenty-four of his thirty-three years in Financial Services. Born and educated in Guernsey, John is a Chartered Accountant and a fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute. John has worked in the local finance industry since 1998. He joined Ernst and Young as an auditor in 2001, where he qualified. After a brief stint in the UK working for Fidelity, John returned to Guernsey as a Manager at Credit Suisse Fund Administration Limited working on the administration of a daily-dealing hedge fund platform, where he came to specialise in the administration of hedge funds and the pricing of derivative instruments. In 2007 John formed Offshore Consulting with Will Morgan, working on a wide range of projects including an additional outsourcing initiative, and several private equity system implementations. In 2001 Will joined Ernst and Young in an audit role and qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. After leaving Ernst and Young, Will joined BPP Professional Education in Guernsey as a tutor specialising in accounting. Case Study 1: Accounting

Outsourced finance department – Regulated Guernsey Fund administrator

Our client is a locally based fund administrator. Offshore Accounting provides a cost-effective alternative to employing an in-house finance department.

On undertaking the engagement Offshore Accounting reviewed the existing accounting function and identified a series of improvements and efficiencies that would improve the quality and efficiency of the output. Offshore Accounting has worked extensively with the client to build a process that provides information to the management in a timely and effective manner.


Case Study 1: Accounting

Outsourced finance department – Regulated Guernsey Fund administrator

As well as on-going support in terms of help and assistance with finance queries, Offshore Accounting provides quarterly management accounts, annual financial statements, budgeting analysis, cash-flows and capital adequacy calculations for the client.

Offshore Accounting utilises the clients “in house” accounting system ensuring that all client data remains within their operating environment, while also having “real time” access to system records.


Case Study 2: Accounting

Outsourced finance department – Investment Manager

Offshore Accounting was approached by a Guernsey regulated entity which provides investment management services to a group of Guernsey funds. The client previously relied upon the accounting services (general ledger, fee calculations, payroll and cash management) being undertaken by another service provider. The output from the previous service provider was not considered appropriate from the client and Offshore Accounting was engaged to determine whether they could offer an alternative, more tailored solution.

Offshore Accounting undertook a review of the existing accounting process and identified a significant number of improvements that would provide the client with more relevant, timely and extensive reporting environment. Offshore Accounting has worked with the client to develop an accounting framework that meets their needs, and incorporated the engagement into a full SLA with KPIs that Offshore Accounting delivers.


Case Study 2: Accounting

Outsourced finance department – Investment Manager

Part of this engagement involved the mid-year transfer of accounting records from a 3rd party system to Offshore Accounting systems and a parallel run to ensure a successful change-over. Offshore Accounting has provided full procedural documentation of the accounting function to meet the needs of the regulator and have also identified a number of process improvements since successful implementation.

The client has now engaged Offshore Consulting to provide a number of additional deliverables.


Case Study 3: Accounting

Outsourced Client Accounting – Private Equity & Fund Client Accounting

Offshore Accounting was approached by a fund administrator in Guernsey looking to outsource the client accounting function. The volume of their accounting work did not warrant an internal client accounting team, but the complexity of the accounting necessitated an experienced resource.

Offshore Accounting has been engaged to complete the preparation and review of the management and annual financial reporting for a number of entities including unit trusts, limited companies, limited partnerships and Sharia compliant structures under UK GAAP and IFRS.

Offshore Accounting has a solid relationship with a number of auditors in Guernsey.

Case Study 4: Accounting

Custody – AIFMD review

We perform the bookkeeping, accounting and administration for a large multi occupant commercial property, processing invoices, tenant service charges and liaising with suppliers. We produce monthly management accounts and year end financials.

Case Study 5: Consulting

Custody – AIFMD review

We were approached by a tier 1 bank in August 2012 to perform a review of their custody procedures in light of current regulation and the new AIFMD requirements. We have performed a full review of their existing procedures and are now working with them to define and implement revised processes in line with upcoming AIFMD requirements.

Private Equity Fund Administration – System Implementation

We were engaged by a local fund administrator to resolve the issues which had arisen from an incomplete private equity system implementation. Over an 18 month period we worked with their operations and IT departments to resolve the deployment issues, to clean the data and explore and implement latent functionality.

Outsourced Business Development Function – Fund Administration

Acting as consultants to a local fund administration company, Offshore Consulting has been retained to review existing marketing activity and develop a business development and marketing strategy focussed on expanding market presence, identifying organic and new business opportunities and elevating the brand within domestic and international channels.


Case Study 7: Consulting

Outsourced Business Development and Marketing Services – Accountancy firm

Retained to review all marketing and business development activity to date, restructure, relaunch and rebrand the company to focus the products and realign with client expectation/demand. This project also involved targeted new business acquisition and the launch of products and services to an international audience, as well as the development of integrated business development and marketing strategies across a number of areas of the business.


Case Study 8: Training

Offshore Consulting was approached by a large fund administrator in Guernsey to develop a suite of “in-house” courses specific to the organisation and its systems. Offshore Consulting worked with the client to develop:

Delegates undertook the suite of courses that was relevant to their field within the organisation. Offshore Consulting also developed a series of course assessments to enable the client to determine success and evaluate attendees.

Case Study 9: Training

Offshore Consulting was approached by a fiduciary provider to develop a Trust and Company accounting review process and provide implementation training. Offshore Consulting worked with the client to analyse the risk and procedures that should be undertaken to demonstrate sound review.

Once the procedures had been defined, the programme was rolled out via a series of training sessions to all levels of staff within the fiduciary provider. Live examples were used wherever possible for training.

Case Study 10: Recruitment

Offshore Consulting has been retained by a number of organisations to provide short term accounting and administration support. Offshore Consulting maintains a high standard of contract and temporary workers, all properly vetted, who undertake a number of roles within the financial services sector.

A fund administrator did not have sufficient resource in place to ensure that the regulated financial statements were completed within the GFSC required deadline. Offshore Consulting provided a team of three dedicated qualified accounts responsible for clearing the backlog to ensure that the regulatory deadlines were met.

  • Due Diligence Visit and Documentation
  • Offshore was engaged by a local Custodian to perform a due diligence visit of a UK based fund administrator, reviewing its processes and controls and documenting any risks or weaknesses.

  • Performance Fee Reviews
  • This project involved reviewing the performance fee calculations across a large fund of hedge fund platform. Following the identification of a number of issues, we were then tasked with revising the calculations and implementing suitable controls to prevent recurrence.

  • Private Equity Funds Reviews and System Migrations
  • This was a significant project which involved performing a review of the administration of a number of private equity funds, identifying and resolving issues and then parallel running and migrating the funds across onto SunGard's Investran software.

  • Outsourcing Initiatives
  • This initiative involved identifying and selecting suitable outsourcing partners and performing and documenting due diligence visits. Once the partners had been selected we assisted with fee negotiations and then assisted with the creation of Service Level and Sub-administration Agreements.

  • Fund Administration Process Reviews
  • Offshore was engaged by a brand name local fund administrator to perform a review of the administration of a large fund of fund platform, identifying and documenting any control weaknesses and providing recommendations to redefine the processes.

  • Set up of Control and Oversight functions
  • Offshore was engaged by a Swiss hedge fund which had recently obtained its designated manager’s licence to design and implement the controls and procedures to oversee the fund administrators administering the funds. The project involved visiting and reviewing administrators in India, New York and Canada and developing a suite of reviews to oversee the production of a number of daily NAVs.

  • Systems Implementations
  • Offshore was engaged to assist with the roll out of a number of bolt-on applications to an existing fund administration system. The project involved migrating entities to a new general ledger and payments application, performing relevant testing and providing support and training to users.
